“I ransack public libraries, and find them full of sunk treasure.” -Virginia Woolf, Virginia Woolf

Ex Libris Balm evokes the warm, earthy, slightly sweet and tangy scent of books with essential oils of vetiver, clary sage and sweet orange, in a base of organic calendula infused oil. Lip balm, hand moisturizer, chapped skin treatment or solid perfume, you'll love curling up with a good balm!

Ingredients: Organic sunflower oil, organic calendula infused oil (sunflower or sesame), beeswax, essential oils of sweet orange, clary sage and vetiver.

Ex Libris means 'From the Library' and I originally created Ex Libris Balm as a goodbye gift to my colleagues at the Berkeley Public Library Foundation when I left my position there. I wanted to capture in scent the intoxicating feeling of standing in the stacks of a library or browsing through a bookstore. I succeeded! The balm was such a hit with recipients that I immediately went through two production runs, and am now making it available to everyone. Packaged in an amber glass jar, the label is taken from a vintage 'Ex Libris' bookplate.
